FLAR / CIAT: Making Rice More Productive, Resilient, and Competitive

So nice to see a customer post on Facebook presenting our QM3i Rice Analyzer. FLAR (Colombia) has been our customer since Mid 2018. They generate and shares knowledge, technologies, and innovations through alliances that contribute to the competitiveness and sustainability of rice.

CIAT created the Latin American Fund for Irrigated Rice (FLAR), a public-private partnership, in 1995 to improve the competitiveness and sustainability of rice production. The Fund has since evolved into a strong regional organization encompassing 36 public and private sector partners in 17 countries, which influences two-thirds of the 5.7 million hectares sown to paddy rice in Latin America and about 80% of the 27.8 million tons produced.

FLAR joins diverse organizations across the rice value chain in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Dominican Republic, Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay, Venezuela, including CIAT as a strategic partner.

On a personal level, I visited the group in Colombia a few years ago. It was inspiring to meet the people there. Very professional, knowledgeable, nice, and dedicated to driving this important mission.
